Tribal Body Painting Series ~ 28 Seconds
In this Fine Art series, I did tribal body painting on men. I spent many hours doing research on ancient tribal tattooing and body painting and then I altered the designs to make them unique. In my research, I found that in many tribes, it is often the men who paint their bodies or tattoo, sometimes their entire face. This is done for many reasons, among them is impressing the opposite sex. In our culture, it is the women who wear the makeup and tattooing the entire face or body is still looked at as "unusual"

Abandoned ~ 42.5 Seconds
As a kid, I loved exploring and that hasn't changed much as an adult. There is something exciting about trekking through a decrepit building to see what clues I can find. Anything to tell me what this building was once used for or what became of it. There is also wonder as to why this building still stands to this day and what will become of it. I find it sad to see old buildings being demolished. All the memories that were created there crumble along with every brick. One of the buildings in this series was torn down only minutes after I photographed it. My photos are proof that someone's home was there - where now there is only dirt.

Alaskan Landscapes ~ 47.5 Seconds
When I lived in Alaska, I spent most of my free time driving throughout the mountains and small nearby towns. I would set out to get lost and most of the time I would. I'd often find amazing places that I could never find again because I would take "roads" that I really shouldn't have been driving on. I can't count how many times I've gotten stuck in the snow, mud, or on a impassible, dangerous road. Somehow, several near death experiences later, I always found my way back home and was able to show the photos to people myself without my camera being pried from my dead, frozen hand. :) |
